Hello Everybody!
So this is going to be another short blog update but I do have some Disney news I thought I'd share. So first I'll start with that. So part 1 of Disney news is that I have found two awesome girls who are going to be suitemates with me and my roommate Brianna. Their names are Natalia and Brittany and I am so excited to room with them! They are so nice and we all get along really well and it's just going to be a fun time all around! Brittany and I have been talking over AIM for a couple of months now and then realized we have the same arrival date and she needed a roommate and Natalia just happened to be looking for one so it all worked out perfectly!
Part 2 of my Disney news is that I finally saw the new Disney animated movie The Princess and the Frog. I won't say much about it as to not ruin any of it but I will say that it is absolutely adorable and its impossible not to laugh and have a good time during that movie. There are a few songs in the movie, but not as many as most Disney movies. However, the songs they did have were pretty good. So that's my review on that and I'm glad I finally got to see it!
So there is my Disney news now I thought I'd just update on my winter break thus far. It is not that exciting, but I have been seeing a lot of friends and family before I go off to Orlando. Just a lot of hanging out with the East Meadow gang and tomorrow I get to see the Carter family. Then Thursday we are celebrating New Years Eve and going out to a restaurant and then Saturday my friends and I are seeing Next to Normal in the city. And I get to see Lauren who I haven't seen since last year. So that is this week's plans and I have no idea what is to come but I will try and update as more news comes my way! And for those of you who arrive on January 27th don't forget that there is now a January 26th meet up dinner! Join the facebook event page! I just can't believe how close it is getting and can't wait to go down there and meet everyone!
Have A Magical Day!!!

Oh The Weather Outside Is Frightful....
Hello Everybody,
So I'm sure you all are wondering what happened at the Christmas in NYC Disney meet up today. Unfortunately, the meet up was canceled due to the weather. It is absolutely horrible outside right now. In fact, it is so foggy that I cannot see the bright city buildings from my window. I am very disappointed that so many of my plans for this weekend had to be canceled due to this horrible weather.
In other news, I found out today that I will be going down to Georgia to stay with my dad for a while and then drive down to Disney with him on the 27th. This means unfortunately, that I will have to fly down by myself. In case you don't know already, I absolutely HATE flying. I think its horrifying. I hate heights, I hate turbulence, I just hate everything about it. I'd rather drive for hours or be on a train. But, unfortunately that is the best plan that we have and I have to deal with it. So a week before the 27th I will be spending some time in Savannah. Which I am excited about because it is gorgeous down there. I honestly cannot wait to be living in the south because I hate this cold NY weather.
So anyways, that's all the news I have for now. I know its a short update, but I figured I would share what happened with the meet up today. Instead everyone is at home enjoying hot cocoa and Disney movies (no joke, it's true). Although I did not get to hang out with everyone today, I take comfort in the fact that I will be down there in 38 DAYS! I cannot wait to meet everyone, and am very excited for all the fun we are going to have down there!
Thats all for now,
Have a magical day!

It's Official!
Hey Everyone,
Just thought I should update you on what's been happening with my Disney College Program. So as I said in post # 2, I met up with the Dean of Marymount and the internship coordinator and finally decided on an option. We decided that I would just do the college program for only 3 credits, and although its a small number, it still gets in my internship hours and it still allows me to do the college program. So I went in again today and retrieved some paperwork from Susan and now all I need is for Rob and Mary to sign off on it and then its official! I'm so happy that this worked out and am extremely excited that I get to do the program.
Also relating to the Disney College Program, if you're reading this and are part of the CP and don't know this already, there is a Disney College Program Meet Up in NYC this Saturday 12/19/09. We are going to be meeting in Bryant Park and do some ice skating, go to World of Disney, window shopping on 5th Avenue, go to Magnolia's bakery, and then have dinner. It sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun and I can't wait to meet everybody. After the program I also have plans with Brittany to go see Princess and the Frog so I'm very excited about that as well. Everyone said how amazing it was, and I'm happy I finally get to go see it. In other new,s this weekend, I also hope to go see Finian's Rainbow with my friend Ariel who I haven't seen in a while. Not to mention I haven't seen any shows this season and that makes me very sad (usually I'm on top of this sort of thing). I heard the show was amazing and it has Cheyenne Jackson so what more can you ask for?
So my life has been extremely busy and it's all leading up to Disney. The semester is thankfully almost over and I have officially finished all of my assignments so now all I need to do is attend class. I am looking forward to the holiday break and all the things I have planned. Just to mention a few, our East Meadow "gang" has a few things planned this holiday season as always we have secret santa, our traditional new years get together, and on January 2nd we are making a trip into the city to see Next to Normal, which is all very exciting. We are also having a visit from Lauren who is coming up from Virginia to see us again! Besides that my friend Jessica will also be coming to visit me on Long Island who is a friend from the Mount and just happens to be doing the Disney College Program as a character performer :-) On top of all that, I am also trying to get a backstage job at a Long Island theater to keep myself occupied. So this break is going to be pretty crazy. But I'm so ready for it.
So that is all the news for now, and I will update you guys again soon!
Have a magical day!

Today's Meeting
Hello Everybody,
So I know I've only put up one other post, since I have had nothing Disney related to say, but today after a couple of weeks since the problem came up, I had a meeting with the Dean of Students to discuss credit options. In case you all didn't know, I was having problems with Marymount and how many credits they would give me so I could be a full time student. There were so many people I had to go through in order to address the situation so finally I ended up at Dean Salmon's office today.
So after my parents talked to Susan (the internship woman at Marymount) and after she talked with Rob (my advisor) they realized that there were a few options here: 1. transfer to a school as a non degree student and get credits through them and transfer them back to Marymount. 2. take the 3 credits from Marymount for the internship and not be a full time student or (the worst option of all) 3. Not go to Disney at all because I cannot obtain full time student status. So in the end, we decided that I would do option #2 because it is the most reasonable and does not require the effort that #1 does but still allows me to go which option #3 does not allow. This is a once in a life time opportunity and there was no way I was going to give it up.
Also Disney related news, although I am only receiving 3 credits for the College Program as a whole, I decided today that I am going to take a course there anyway even though I won't receive any credit for it. It is part of the Professional Development Series Courses that you can take while in the CP and I decided that it would be beneficial to enroll in the Entertainment Show Production course because it is closely related to my major and gives me the opportunity to learn about all aspects of theater and meet with professionals. This is a fantastic opportunity and I am extremely excited to embark on this journey.
In other news, as most of you know I am currently interning with the off Broadway show the Blue Man Group as their production intern. I am sad to say that tomorrow will be my last day at this amazing production. I have learned a lot, and met some awesome and creative people and am very sad to leave. However while I'm in Orlando you can be sure that I will be seeing their Orlando show at Universal Studios!
Well, that is all the news I have for everyone for now. I hope you're enjoying my blog and continue reading!
Have a magical day!

Introduction
Hey Everyone,
So as most of you know, this Spring semester, I will not be coming back to Marymount Manhattan College because I have been lucky enough to be accepted into the Walt Disney World College Program for their Spring Advantage Program! This program, is an amazing opportunity and I encourage all of you to look into it. For more information if you're interested, please go to www.wdwcollegeprogram.com otherwise feel free to ask me questions I'd be happy to answer what I can!
So for my first blog I thought I'd first start off by telling a little more about myself. As I mentioned above, I am currently attending Marymount Manhattan College as a Theater major with a concentration in producing and management and specializing in stage management (yes that is my full major). I have had a lot of experience working in the theater though surprisingly not all of them in stage management. My first internship ever was actually at Studentslive which is a Broadway education company. More recently, I have interned with the Film Society of Lincoln Center while helping them with the New York Film Festival and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I loved everything about it and was sad to leave. However, when one door closes another opens, and as it happens as soon as my adventure ended with the Film Society, I was offered a production internship with one of the most popular off Broadway shows called "The Blue Man Group". Being an avid member in the off off Broadway community, I was extremely proud to finally have an experience with the off Broadway community. It is such a pleasure to work with such talented people and learn so many new things every day.
So that is basically about me and my major, and pretty much the main thing to know about me is how much I am in love with theater. The first show I ever saw was the Sound of Music and since then I've been hooked. At Disney I hope to learn more from the theater they produce and maybe even talk to some of their stage managers. This is such a fantastic opportunity and I'm so blessed to be a part of it. I have been talking to so many people who are in the program and everyone is so nice and enthusiastic I can't wait to start the program!
So long for now,
*~Elise~*
